A reminder that when not making tapes or interviewing inebriated hashtags, I do a podcast with Sean Haughton called Pub Classics. We are nine episodes in and have had guest contributions from members of Efialtis, Es, SEMI, Snob and a live studio audience. We play a range of punk, hardcore, indie pop, noise, synthpop and jungle from across the globe.

EPISODE 8: SALTY CLASSICS

HAPPY 2016 FUCKERS, FINALLY WE RETURN IN TRUE FORM. we give back to the community by coming correct with a 2 hour bumper edition and a special guest in the form of KATY (of ES, ponyboy, ex-gloss rejection, ex-weird menace) at MUSCLE HORSE RECORDS HQ. we end up with a live audience of house members, katy repeatedly plays music by bands she doesn’t like, the pub classics curse continues, ben wears uggs, sean wears crocs, we all get drunk on pink cava.

NB: there are some minor sound issues with this episode as we were lacking a pop filter and there were maybe 7 phones in the room (also for some reason that venom prison track has a weird hiss on it on the MP3 we bought), so heads up. it’s a sick episode though, just deal.

WE FUCKED UP. technical difficulties didn't want this one to live. we had two separate recording attempts, both of which went wrong, so we've given up on trying to save it. 50% of this episode was curated by BRYONY BEYNON (good throb/muscle horse records/dregs/ex-the sceptres/efialtis/etc.) and GRACE AMBROSE (maximum rocknroll/mozart/ex-heavy bangs). normal broadcasting to resume next episode. sorry to bryony and grace, we'll get you back.

Two people talking into a microphone taped to a 6-foot Christmas tree feeding the world the freak music it deserves for an hour and a half, fortnightly. In our first episode, Ben opens with two songs about living in a clown car city where everything is trying to kill you slowly and drinks old man bitters, while Sean celebrates Arthur Russell’s birthday late, basically plays a Nine Inch Nails song and says “curveball” 50 times.
