starting to think having several fics in progress on ao3 with absolutely no schedule or expectation for updates might be good for me actually. maybe being less hard on myself will make fic writing more fun.
#might post the first chapter of the platonic alecourtney all stars rewrite sometime this week. fuck it!!!#it's a fic i'm excited about!! i want to share what i have!! even if the overall fic isn't finished!!#i need to stop expecting my fics to be perfect and let them be messy and incomplete for a while#this is supposed to be fun!!#it's supposed to be about engaging in a fan community!!#and i can't do that if i'm keeping all my wips tucked away until i think they're done and perfect which could take years!!#i think updating a fic over the course of several years would fix me actually#god should i even. start posting the courtney time travel au.#ive always thought of all the fics i shouldn't post that one until it's finished because of time travel continuity#but i have been working on that one FOR FOUR YEARS. i have been talking about it FOR FOUR YEARS#and NO ONE has SEEN IT#why not!!! why not just start posting stuff!!!#ive also considered posting abandoned wips or detailed outlines that i'll never write. just to share them. because why not??#haven't quite figured out the protocol for that on ao3#but i'm TIRED of not showing ppl stuff until i think it's perfect. because it's never going to be!!!!!!#okay yeah. not gonna do anything now bc i gotta go to bed soon. but much to ponder.#ptu
