In all of Koda's 14.5 years, I've never witnessed "The Goof Grin" as captured here by me today while winding down at the park. At least that's the term I came up with 10 minutes ago because not only have I not seen this silly looking Grin before but as we all know, with her arthritis and other stuff going on she rarely smiles. But today it was all smiles . I remember at that moment this afternoon when she was tell me from the bottom of her heart; Ooh my gosh Dad, thank you so much for taking us swimming and frisbee hunting. this is the best day of my life even though we went to the park yesterday and the day before that one...but today she did, almost drown in the river trying to catch the elusive, speedy, quietly ferocious and agile green mallard. Yup, she almost bit the big one again, just like last year.. in the same river ... probably the same elusive duck too! I miss her smiles and when they come around it's all I can do to either laugh or cry but either way, I just lean over and tell her that it's the the best day of my life for me to... at least until tomorrow ... at the next dog park. #ptsdservicedogs #USMCserviceanimal #seizurealertservicedog #unitedstatesmarinecorp #seniorservicedog #senioryear (at Creekside Park)
