I am in the bathroom brushing my teeth and Buzz Buzz walks in and rubs against my leg with all the joy a 10 week old puppy wiggle can muster. I say, “Hi Buzz Buzz. Aren’t you cute?” and realize three things at once - 1) she can’t hear me, 2) even if she could, I’m brushing my teeth so it must sound like garbled sounds drowned out my electric toothbrush, and 3) I have to do things differently. So I bend down slightly (ok, more than slightly because she barely passes my ankle) and pat her on her head. She pushes her little head into my hand and thumps her tail against the bathroom cabinets and then waddles out of the bathroom. Little Ohana is teaching me to slow down and listen to a puppy the way I have never had to before. 

I invite you all along to ask questions, make comments, give feedback and share opinions...are all welcome. I am not obligated to accept them and you’re not obligated to agree with me but I know that “Buzz Buzz” has a lot to teach me and I am excited at the prospect to become a better teacher, a better trainer and a better person.
