Shassie peeps. So I have been researching things for a tattoo for Lassiter. It’s a tattoo along his left hip in that “v” line, angled so the word reads up his hip bone. I haven’t worked out details such as style or color. But it’s going to be life size Irish wren wing span with the word “Méadú” across them. He gets it when he’s 19 or 20 and it’s a motto, a reminder of his strength and his spite/contempt. It’s a whole long backstory about his late teens to early twenties and how that past comes through to bring him together with Shawn. It’s got a lot of layers to it that I kind of ADHD rabbit holed. The initial notes and pictures I threw together to remind me (like I’d forget) about placement. The pics and brain flow notes are below the break. The question is:

This hip tattoo. Mm. Fucking hip v mmm. Ok. Is lassie Irish? Yes. Ok cool. I like the idea of “Rise” as the tattoo but it screams Phoenix. And lassie wouldn’t be so trite. No Irish phoenixes but there is a King of All Birds - the wren. Dreoilín. Ok. So what is rise?

Life size wings with “méadú” across in appropriate font in … what color. All black and white? Like photo real b&w? Outline/cartoon? Color semi realism?
Twenty plus minutes looking shit up to design a “realistic” tattoo for my poor strong-through-spite, former tumblr sex blogger, Irish, surprisingly fit Lassiter. Like. Screen shots of edits screenshotted and cropped again.

I put far too much time in this and frankly I could have just put the word “rise” in wing shaped flames and it’d achieve the same end goal. Shawn sees it on contemporary Lassie and recognizes it from long ago when tumblr allowed sexual content and yeah. I researched that too and I think I did find an appropriate year to set my fic in that makes me adjust years a bit for the ages to work but 1- they’re still age-gapped canonically. 2- tumblr still had porn. 3- revenge porn was a thing that wasn’t a crime people knew of. 4- and I had more but now I lost it.
Oh and I have no idea anything about the pic of the male torso. It came up when I googled “men with v line tattoos” and yep.
