#psionic handbook

So, my favorite Iconic Character from D&D 3E/3.5E was Ragnara the Psychic Warrior from the Psionics Handbook. I've posted about my attempt to recreate her in Hero Forge before.

But now Hero Forge has implemented a new Digital Kitbashing feature where they let Pro subscribers have access to most every part from their library, to be resized and posed anywhere.

This meant I could finally get a lot closer to her source material art:

I know when it comes to D&D Iconic characters, she's a bit on the obscure side, but Wizards of the Coast did make a blind-box mini of her, and third party mini manufacturer Reaper had a sculpt that was clearly inspired by her (image is not my paint job).

So, I've been on a DnD 3.5 kick and came up with a massively fun character to play, but have nobody to run a game.

She's a thri-kreen merchant from the Chitinous desert, a land of mostly insectoid creatures that until recently had no contact with the outside world. She was shocked to find out that the other intelligent races of the world were so different from her people, having never even seen a mammal bigger than a squirrel, but eagerly struck out across these new lands to forge alliances and establish trade routes with these strange, soft persons and their cultures that filled the great wide world.

As time has gone on, this has been difficult. While back in her home desert she was considered something of a knockout (and that is a comment on her looks, not her skills as a Monk), out in the wider world people seem to find her people's appearance monstrous and terrifying, necessitating that she spend much of her time wearing a mask and concealing clothes lest she be attacked on sight. She's been told her voice sounds elven, so she simply lets people assume and doesn't correct them unless the ask.

What's been more alarming is the people of the outside world's impression on her, though. As she's traveled she's noticed every new people she encounters, dwarves or elves or humans or orcs, all seem to fit a certain template. Two eyes, two arms, two legs, one head. Roughly similar noses and ears in the same placement. Soft skin. Bones on the inside. More magic users, no psionics. She generally cant even tell the difference between humans and elves until someone mentions something and orcs, who are supposed to be so monstrous, simply strike her as tall, beardless, angry dwarves, no more terrifying than gnomes with their doublespeak and tiny fingers... In all the world, outside of her desert, she has found nothing like her people. The merchant used to fear that the gods did not have a plan for the world. She has begun to worry that they do... And her people will have no place in it.
