a lavender marriage of the best kind
A house hunter is a gigantic relative of the mimic, capable of imitating an entire building (Bryan Cook, from "The Vanishing Village," AD&D adventure by Marcus L Rowland, Dungeon magazine 19, Sept/Oct 1989)
I’m drowning in a sea of audio dramas and I put 95% of the blame on Mr. Alexander J. Newall
The latest episode of Pseudopod is by Martha Wells (author of The Murderbot Diaries)! Read or listen here:

I’m burning through a lot of podcasts recently.
Ate up Midnight Burger before Xmas, and am eagerly awaiting it’s return in March. All January I got exquisitely emotionally ruint by Desert Skies.
Now I am listening to How I Died, and I am finding I like it a lot better if I fast forward through the two minutes of ads and one minute of Patreonning at the beginning, listen to the 10-12 minute episode, and then skip the minute and a half of episode recap and minute or so of ads at the end.
Mental jury is still out on whether I’ll keep listening when I finish S3.
Meanwhile, what other podcasts do folks recommend? I like longform stuff with supernatural/horror/comedic angles. Have listened to TMA and a chunk of WTNV. Also like the same stuff but for one-shots, like Pseudopod, Toasted Cake. Am partway into Hello From The Hallowoods.
What’s good? Or, lacking that, what’s engaging/fun?
Our Captain of the Demeter is voiced by Alasdair Stuart! You might know him from PseudoPod, @thekilda, The Magnus Archives, and more! Alasdair just seemed like a good choice for a ship captain, ya know? I don't think he's ever voiced one... (Jokes aside, we're so excited to have him aboard!)
someday ill make a full or at least fuller list of my favorite stories read on pseudopod but off the top of my head
the new mother. dreamy fairytale horror that i can vividly imagine traumatizing some poor children with.
the santa claus parade. comedic and grotesque xmas horror story thatll vibe with anyone who knows the surreal consumerist nightmare of working during the holiday season.
the coven of dead girls. a gut wrenching and intimate examination of injustice in which the ghosts of a serial killers victims struggle to make themselves heard after death.
meat. deeply uncomfortable dystopian nightmare speculating on the future of sex and reproduction as commodity.
the rocking horse winner. a deceptively dark, vaguely gothic story about a young child trying to make his mother happy which explores the nature of money and magic.
papa’s wrench and the wind chime. a surprisingly compassionate suburban horror about a family full of monsters and a town full of badly hidden secrets.
big brother. another surreal careful-what-you-wish-for story but one which strikes such a weirdly personal note with me that i Never stop thinking about it.
miss mack. this one just makes me so mad miss mack i love you so much you didnt deserve that shit.
ill add more if/when i think of them but just in general listen to pseudopod its so fuckin good
