* Did Willstrop find the chink the Armour of Elshorbagy? A deadly combination of: a.) accurate drives with distance (continually beyond the service box); followed by, b.) drop shots from the back of the court => resulting in an easy front wall slam dunk.
* Was Willstrop having the game of his life, or was this just a not-too-old pro rising like a phoenix from the ashes.
* Was Elshorbagy having an off day. Perhaps slightly, but Willstrop’s marksmanship neutralized the service box volley of the young no.1 in a way we’ve not seen.
Like most boxing arguments the real tragedy is that we will not get to see these two battle it out at the peak of their careers. Champions fade, champions emerge.
