hey. iād check out itsphotoshopās beginner section. or just their tutorials masterpost.
i wish i had some more specific tutorials to link to but i learned how to gif around 2011 and so a lot of the tips i used from other people in fandom are long gone by now.
that being said, following tutorials can be extremely helpful but i learned a lot just by messing around (and messing up a lot).
for instance iād definitely suggest going through all the adjustment layers until you know what each one can do:

i personally rather shamelessly stole the idea from one of @sunlitcasās tutorials, as of for instance.
i really donāt mind photoshop questions but specificity in what exactly youāre looking for makes it so much easier for me to answer them.
someone just asked me āhow'd you make your gifs?ā and that involves a lot of parts! to make a tutorial which literally covers how i go from the actual video to how i screencap to how to create a gif and then all the steps beyond that i take to edit and color would take me a really long time to make.

How long does it usually take you to make a gifset?ā¤ļø
iām going to give you a very unhelpful answer, which is, it depends.
the last gifs i made, for instance, took me a really long time. hours and hours. mostly because i colored the scene from 11.10 many times over because i wasnāt happy with how it looked.
but if i have a gifset thatās just 1 or 2 gifs where the coloring isnāt driving me crazy, iād say 30-45 minutes. ish. thatās kind of a guess though because iām terrible with time! also iām a perfectionist so i donāt prioritize speed.
(that is just time in photoshop, not getting the video or screenshots, etc.)
