My skills/habits
I have some terrible experiences dealing with commas and adverbs. Also, I find it hard for me to apply all the grammar rules in my essays. And planning before writing, at best, is what I do when it is only at the beginning of a writing class. Meanwhile I have a wild willing to make my contexts bold and clear like Hemingway does. So these things are poisoning my writing. I'll try to improve them throughout this course.
An area I'm apt to "doing well" is I have such kind of strong sense/ability rearranging my sentences. For instance if be given the original sentence: "I want you to think about..." I tend to improve it into "Let's take a second to consider..." When me myself is writing, I'll do "Consider, if you will, ..."
What is good prose style?
There are some essential epistemes for doing a prose. Like it needs to flow, and there's supposed to be at least a topic or something solid in it. But when we are talking about good prose style, there are too much the criteria to be met. In short we can say, for a poetics of proses, one shall always aim to something new and aesthetic. This is partly because that a prose which either provides excitement or satisfaction could be called a good one. So if you don't have a good story, don't do a prose; if you don't have well established rhetoric skills, don't do a prose.
