Experience the rich and clean flavors of Chemex coffee with this Slim Palate recipe. It's a simple and elegant way to brew a delicious cup of coffee with a unique profile.
Ingredients: 40g coarsely ground coffee beans. 600g hot water about 200F or 93C. Chemex coffee filter.
Instructions: Make sure that the side that has been folded three times is facing the spout when you put the Chemex coffee filter in the brewer. To get rid of the taste of the paper, rinse the filter with hot water and heat up the Chemex. Throw away the rinse water. Put the coffee grounds that aren't very fine into the Chemex filter. Set a timer and pour 100g of hot water over the coffee grounds so that they are completely covered. One minute is enough time for the coffee to bloom. Once the bloom is done, keep pouring the last 500g of hot water in a slow, circular motion over the coffee grounds, making sure they are all wet. Let the coffee drip through the filter and into the Chemex. Keep pouring water at the same rate for 2 minutes and 30 seconds to make sure all the water is gone. After the water has gone through the filter all the way about 4 minutes, take out the filter and throw it away. Serve the Chemex coffee in your favorite coffee cup or mug right after it's been brewed. Have fun with your tasty Slim Palate Chemex coffee!

Using a Chemex to make coffee is a fun experience that makes a clean, crisp cup of coffee with bright flavors and a smooth finish.
Ingredients: 42g coarsely ground coffee beans. 700g hot water 200F or 93C. Chemex coffee filter.
Instructions: Make sure the three-folded side of the Chemex coffee filter faces the spout when you put it in the brewer. To get rid of the paper taste and warm up the Chemex, rinse the filter with hot water. Throw away the rinse water. Put the coffee grounds that aren't very fine in the filter. Set a timer and pour just 100 grams of hot water over the coffee grounds to cover them all. It's time for the coffee to bloom. This helps get rid of gases that are stuck and improves the flavor extraction. Once the bloom is done, slowly pour the rest of the hot water over the coffee grounds in a circle, making sure that all of the grounds are wet. To keep the water level in the Chemex pretty steady, pour at the same rate every time. It should take about 4 minutes to brew all together. Take out the filter and throw it away after the water has gone through the coffee grounds and into the Chemex. Put the Chemex coffee that you just brewed into your favorite mug and enjoy!

I love that the Chemex is such an iconic piece of coffee brewer design that it just shows up in all sorts of media. Like the new Kirby game!
