Javik - Vengeance for a Trillion Dead.
White ink on black paper. I use Gelly Roll pens, they offer the best opacity for the price.
Elodie Laurent, Nursing Student at Freemont Academy and Definitely 100% Human, Made Entirely of Flesh and Certainly Not Rubber
And the (for now) final result of that WIP from a little while ago!! My sweet Galatean Nurse for a campaign that has been put on ice for the time being ;; but I was deep into this portrait at the time and figured i might as well finish the subject (so then she can have a proper portrait for when we pick back up again hopefully!)
Also ref copped from @jookpubstock!
The phrase 'Meeting your Maker' reaches back to a scene in (Ridley) Scott's 'Blade Runner' that even more explicitly references 'Frankenstein.' Numerous motifs from the Prometheus mythos in general, and 'Frankenstein' in particular, are woven into 'Blade Runner.' The Replicants are mutineers who escape from an off-world colony. Roy makes reference to this by quoting Milton's 'Paradise Lost' on the fiery fall of the angels from Heaven. When Deckard pursues one of the Replicants into a bar where she plays the role of an exotic dancer coiled by a a genetically engineered snake (whose scales the Blade Runner has found at a crime scene), there is an explicit mention of the Serpent who corrupted mankind. The robot turns out to have a serpent tattooed on her neck as well. The rebel leader Roy is a far more faithful portrayal of Frankenstein's monster than we are presented with in the many film adaptations of Shelley's novel. He has the brilliantly cunning intellect that they lack, so that he becomes more than a match for his maker.

Phillip K. Dick was extremely concerned about the captivation of an individual's psyche by an alien worldview. In one of his final interviews, he went so far as to identify this as the central concern of all of his work. Dick wanted to protect individuals, especially those with particularly open and suggestible psyches such as he believed himself to be, from having their minds invaded and captured by a world of meaning that is not their own.
