any of my buddies know what project cloverkit is?
i was already on the internet when that happened (it was around 2015 or 2014 i think), i didnt have any accounts, so i never interfered. but dang. what was supposed to be a happy "support young artists" movement turned into a huge trainwreck and even lead the creator of cloverkit to deactivate their account.
anyone remember that?
8 years ago project cloverkit took the warriors community here by storm before promptly crashing and burning, 7 years ago i bought him from a previous owner on deviantart that i happened to following, and NOW…HE IS COMING TO AN ANTHRO NEW ENGLAND NEAR YOU!!! ☘️☘️☘️

well whether you have or haven’t, i have a story for you.
cloverkit started as a simple adoptable that someone bought and then was stolen by some kid and then was found by some asshole who posted it on tumblr and people jumped to the kids defense and people drew this cat and started a whole "movement" in mere hours and the insane amount of traffic led to the kid deactivating their account and who knows where they are now. then some user buys cloverkit from the original owner for $6 and then later sells it to me for $6 and now has cloverkit as my deviantart account mascot’s adopted son and cloverkit has been renamed moyashi.

You said that Bolt wanted us to stop drawing their OC, should we delete any drawings we made of CloverKit?
Hmmmm, good point there. I don’t recall Bolt ever saying she wanted people to delete any pics (if has has/does someone please tell me). So I would just stop posting/rebloging them. Maybe even removing all the ck related tags from them
If anyone else thinks it would be best to go about this anyway else, I’m open for suggestions

whoa what happened with project cloverkit?
Basically the actual owner of Cloverkit (Aka who made the original drawing) finally got online and was completely overwhelmed with all the comments/watches/fanarts/etc They first posted a journal saying they were super happy about all the watchers and such, then posted one asking people to STOP drawing cloverkit and that they didnt want so much art Then they deactivated their whole account probably for a whole multitude or reasons including (but not limited to):-Rude comments-Too many comments like holy crap-Plus you get a mention on DA everytime someone links your username so take all those comments and then add at least half of those for mentions-Drama absolutely EVERYWHERE on her page -People getting butthurt when she didnt comment/fav/WANT their art-People using cloverkit as an icon/mascot without permission Oh boy project Cloverkit sure did inspire this young artist (But seriously the intentions were really great)
