I took a week off work. Originally I was supposed to go camping but that was cancelled, so I stayed home to clean. The start of the week was pretty hot, so I didn't get as much done as I had hoped but it is a marked improvement. And I'm also doing really good about not being harsh on myself for not meeting my goals. Improvement is improvement!
Almost every dish from around the apartment has made its way into the kitchen and most have been washed. Plus some other random things, but the dishes and other kitchen improvements are really the highlight.
While I was washing dishes, I was thinking about more ways I could help myself. I realized that one problem I have is that I never think to do the dishes until I'm out of clean things to eat off of, and by that point there's a gross pile in the sink that sucks to deal with.
So why not limit the number of things that can get dirty in the first place? I'm going to pack up all but 2 of each type of dish and piece of flatware. With a few exceptions. I'll take the box downstairs to my storage locker to remove the temptation to just get out another plate, but I will keep it towards the front and handy, just in case I truly do need to add or subtract from what I keep in the kitchen.
