Are there any resources you would recommend?

specifically for making your own website, people tend to recommend sadgrl's webmastery page! i have her website linked in the bottom (the cool websites section) as well, but i've never got the chance to use it, because i already know everything :)

it also helps, to read the code of websites you like / want to replicate with the in browser devtools (CTRL+SHIFT+i).

if you're gonna be using neocities to host your website, i recommend not using their built in text editor, and storing a copy of all our files locally. maybe in a git repository. so if they go down, you don't loose them

i had a general coding advice post a while back, but i can't find it now, so.... (yay tumblr search) i guess the most important is to learn how to google (use nonshit websites like stackoverflow, and mozzila docs specifically for html) and use a good text editor

I actually have a few answers to this one.

First of all i would start small, dont head into a massive project with a decent knowledge of basic code, stuff like if statements and looping statements are a good place to start to learn the necessary logic.

The advice i wish i would have heard is just to mess about with code especially in languages like visual basic and do something fun (i recommend building a text based RPG) as it will teach you a lot about code and get you thinking of new ways to manipulate code to suit you.

If you get stuck google is your best friend and if you are really struggling to start use code academy it’s a free resource that will help teach programming through tutorials. It is a good place to start.

Decide what your AI is going to do first. You don’t have to have every single detail down or know exactly how to implement it via Code, you don’t even have to know how it’s going to actually work. You just have know what the goal is.

It doesn’t have to have perfect sentence structure, it just has to learn.

It’s going to learn by associating words and concepts with each other.

IT IS NEVER TOO EARLY TO START! Honestly, if your interested in programming just start now. Programming is a lot of about building experience, so start as soon as possible. I always wish that I had started programming sooner. 

Second, I don’t think that there is an ‘ideal’ programmer. You need to forget the stereotype that programming is only for computer nerds or whatever. The thing about programming is that it has so many applications. So almost everyone can be a programmer. If you want to program and do things with code, then you are an ideal programmer.
