Could you compare the amount of progestin in the implant (implanon) vs the amount in progestin-only birth control pills? I'm considering getting the implant but only if it proves to have lower doses of progestin than pills.
Each Micronor tablet (progesterone-only birth control pills) contains 0.35mg of norethindrone, a type of progesterone.
The Nexplanon contains a total of 68mg of etonogestrel, a different type of progesterone.  It releases approximately 60-70 micrograms a day.
To compare daily dose:
Micronor: 350 micrograms a day
Nexplanon: 60-70 micrograms a day
Buuuuuttttt, I wouldn't necessarily compare the two, since the two type of progesterone work very differently on different bodies. Â Yes, the Nexplanon has a much lower dose, but it acts very strongly on the body, and people either love it or hate it. Â It doesn't necessarily have the same effects as Micronor, but maybe that's what you're looking for!
If so, enjoy!
