Good morning (or afternoon or evening, wherever you are!) Today I have a review of a recent but possibly favorite of all time FOUNDATION. For reference, I have very oily skin, am acne-prone, and have texture and scarring/discoloration (mitigated of course by the use of my retinol serum mentioned in a previous post, but theyβre still visible nonetheless.) I put off trying this foundation for years, but finally bit the bullet when I saw the shade range. I am light-skinned but have a very yellow/olive undertone, which makes finding a match EXTREMELY difficult for me. Nearly impossible. And itβs still kind of impossible, but Fenty gets pretty close for me. Yes, the foundation I am talking about is the Fenty Beauty Pro Filtβr Soft Matte Longwear Foundation, $35 on the Fenty website. I love this foundation for 3 primary reasons, the first being the longevity of this product. I can put it on in the morning and wear it until late at night and I donβt notice any breakdown in the coverage, any weird texture happening, or any redness or scarring showing through. Makeup usually separates and comes off around my nose, cheeks/around my mouth, and my chin, or starts to look very apparent and less skin-like.This foundation looks flawless all day long. Secondly, I donβt need to POWDER with this. Unheard of!! With my oily skin, I have always had to apply a generous layer of powder to my entire face to avoid looking like a greaseball. Not with this! Itβs amazing, and if I can do one less step and wear one less product on the day-to-day, Iβm thrilled. And thrilled I am. The third and final reason that I adore this foundation is the shade range. Boasting 50 shades, youβre bound to find something that matches you, or is at least a close enough match that the untrained eye wonβt really notice a difference (and make sure to blend down your chest and neck!) I wear the shades 185 and 190. 190 has a better undertone, but is just a tad too dark - itβll be good for when I get a little bit of color. 185 is the right shade in terms of the lightness of my skin, but has a little too much of a pink undertone. 190 is a warm undertone and 185 is neutral. Guess Iβm warmer than I thought! But overall this product is amazing! Do I wish it was cheaper? Yes! Do I miss applying a layer of powder to my face every day? No! Do I love this foundation and recommend it to you? Yes! Give it a try. Also on their site they often offer free shipping, so thatβs a plus! Check it out. I hope you enjoyed this post and find your new fave foundation.Β
