can we talk about how the united states ranks 26th globally in terms of education. we're now average. and all pride aside, we have to recognize that our country's drop out rates are roughly 25%. 

as remarkable as the numbers go for higher education (100 million students enrolled in college), a good chunk of those young adults are unable to complete those 4 years of undergrad. 

sure there are a lot of factors justifying our plummeting rank. student loans, unemployment, underfunding.. but i think what needs to be reformed is our cultural tendency to find a scapegoat. 

it's not entirely the fault of government, the teacher, the administration, the lazy student, or parent. 

education is a privilege. ivy league or public university. top 50 or community college.  "there's nothing dumb about getting an education."

we need exceptional teachers. better funding. full support and enthusiasm from the whole community -- teachers, family, and students. oh and the government.  

it's the essential foundation to a better future. this future isn't referring to financial stability alone; learning takes many forms as it transcends a core curriculum of subjects. it's about goals for individual growth, experience, and knowledge. 

and so, the country needs to want this, want education. it's not about getting by writing notes passively or halfheartedly attending class for 4 years to earn a degree. and hey, this also applies to high schools too. 

we need to want it. we all need to want it.  it's the motivation that's lacking nowadays. i mean so many of my peers are forced to "grow up" because they enter straight to the workforce (if given a job). college is out of the question because they cannot afford it. everyone else goes to college because it's part of the timeline.  high school, college, job.

let's not forget the piling debt..

it just doesn't come that simply and it sucks.

a good chunk of argument is missing..  but here's my "lemme break it down for you.." 

parents encourage your children to learn by being a good example. if you show little to no interest in current events or do not prioritize education, your child will inherit the same attitude. 

teachers be open minded with lesson plans and also be a good example. you have a critical role in cultivating young minds (which is scary as hell). 

students be up for the challenge. keep in mind your goals. to supplementary work and be informed instead of being solely dependent on what's going on in the classroom. remember that this is for you; it's not to impress your parents or peers.. if you want to be a good student, if you want to learn, if you want to take full advantage of your educational rights, please do. and please do your best. 

and government, prioritize the united states' educational programs.
