Everywhere I go, I hear about how terrible guns are and how they are evil or something and mostly just saying how anyone who doesn't want gun control is a crazy right wing conservative who hates gay people or some shit. So here I am to say why I don't want gun control.

I am a woman, pretty short, and not athletic or particularly strong. I am in college and used to live in an apartment near campus with a lot of frat boys. I carry around pepper spray and a pocket knife with me.

Now let me ask this, if one of those frat boys pr someone else tried to do something to me (yes i mean rape), what exactly am i supposed to do. Me, five foot four and about zero percent muscle, with a knife vs some goddamn football player over six feet tall?? 9 out of ten, football player wins, ok. But you know what? Me, with my revolver? Even if the guy also has a gun, it's no longer a straight up fight, you see? We both have a gun, we are equally as dangerous.

Honestly you don't even need to have bullets 95% of the time to defend yourself with a gun. Someone sees you have a gun, they will leave you alone.

A lot people think it's just white conservative men who want guns, NO! I, a moderate woman, want a gun to defend myself. There are a lot of posts on here by women with stories about creepy guys and how scared they were the guy might follow them home, but because I have a gun, I don't feel that way. I have that security and it makes my life easier not having to worry about that.
