>Sal is cordial with medical, custodial and cafeteria staff, as well as his fellow inmates, but he makes a point to be as cheeky as possible with the guards. He never does anything violent or threatening, but he always has a quick comeback at the ready and likes to dramatically deadweight when they decide to drag him back to his cell before his rec time is actually up. ("Oh, my gentleman callers! Take me away, boys, I'm all yours...~")

>Eventually the guards got sick of his snark and threw him in solitary confinement so they wouldn't have to deal with him anymore.

>His insomnia was already bad, but it got even worse when he was sent to solitary. If it wasn't the bright, buzzing lights that were never turned off or the noise from other inmates, it was the nagging guilt and violent flashbacks that kept him awake.

>He passed the time in solitary playing air guitar and singing to himself, doodling with whatever implements and makeshift pigments he could fashion, and eventually resorted to seeing how many pushups and situps he could do in a row (Larry would have been proud)

>His uniform fit a little loosely when it was first issued to him, but it got pretty snug after all those boredom workouts started to show.

>He used a lot of his old therapy tricks to try and keep himself together once it was clear that he'd probably be in solitary until his execution- he did a lot of meditating, but it was hard to concentrate with the wails of other inmates echoing down the hallway. He tried visualization, but his intrusive thoughts always cut into the calming fantasy he'd constructed. He tried positive affirmations, but he eventually got sick of repeating what his gut told him were lies. He even tried praying once, but after everything he had seen, it just made him feel foolish to think something could hear him. Toward the end, when he got tired of hoping for something to save him (if he deserved saving at all), he basically went catatonic and spent most of his time sitting there, just waiting...

>Jim would sometimes try to contact him during his prison stay, but the longer he was there, the less Sal was sure that his 'glitches' were actual messages from the other side or if they were hallucinations brought on by the prolonged isolation

>Refused his last meal (he didn't exactly have an appetite, and the frozen lasagna they offered was nothing compared to Lisas, anyway.)
