Left alone in her new and spacious accommodations, Rose explore more without her chaperone. It was clear that no luxury was spared here, and she couldn’t imagine ever wanting for anything in these rooms. Maybe something to eat, but after her meal she felt so sated she almost felt alive. Almost. Glad to find that the bathroom had a window to the outside world, she stripped down without a care, taking a bath as she watched the sun set.
It was so different from the last sunset she saw as a human, though she was just as captivated now as she was then. Finding a very fluffy robe, she slept for the first time during the night, in awe that she wasn’t being forced to sleep by some unexplained force.
Rousing as the sun rose, she stayed in bed, watching the spectacle unfold in its entirety. Wondering if Cresil was awake so early, she almost texted him, but stopped herself. He was most likely busy with work or play or maybe a bit of both. She only hoped he wouldn’t forget she was here, his guest in this strange realm.
Well, nothing cured a distracted mind more than going shopping. Dressing in the same clothes she had the night before, she used the numbers the hotel provided to call the chauffeur. Asking where the best malls and shopping centers were in the city she was glad to hear they were close by, but outside of the Vampire district. Finding a map in the desk, she tried to get her bearings, but instead opted for walking, programming the chauffeur’s number in her phone.
If she was going to be staying here, even for a little while, she needed to understand where she was. At least Cresil had left her where her Vampire status wasn’t looked at with scorn, though she felt a few gazes lingering on her as she walked down the streets. She wasn’t from here, and though she wasn’t sure what made that obvious, it seemed everyone could tell. Exploring this little district, she grabbed a cup of coffee, nearly scalding her tongue by how eager she was to drink it. Almost moaning from the familiar and missed taste, she texted the driver to meet her nearby the cafe.
At least the trip to the shopping district was uneventful. No crazy roller coaster speeds this time. Thanking him softly she grinned at the familiar sights of stores all ready for her to enter. She wasn’t sure she was going to buy anything, Cresil had done more than enough for her, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t have some fun.
After a few hours by herself, she knew she was growing bored. Without a guide she felt nervous in this world. Cresil had warned her not to speak to anyone, lest she do something she couldn’t take back, and she was taking him seriously on that. She only spoke to others in polite but curt words, just enough to get her point across. Without someone to make sure she didn’t screw up, she wasn’t having nearly as much fun as she should, at least from her perspective. In the dressing rooms of a very high end store, she looked at her reflection of the black and strappy dress. It was far more revealing than what she’d had on the night before, and though she wasn’t sure what she thought of Cresil entirely, it would be amusing to rile him up. Snapping a selfie of herself in the dress, she texted it to him with a short message.
[text: Cresil] Thought I’d show you what you’re missing out on. I love this area. Got so many cool things. This dress included.
