Shadow Realm Monster Manual Aliens Part One This is part of the second batch of creatures I have been writing new lore to bring these into D&D, which has been a ridiculous amount of fun! I was suggested to have them relating in some way to Mind Flayers, so I spent a while immersing myself in their lore. I got fixated on a throwaway line in Volo's that posits the theory that the Illithid never lost their empire but rather moved it to the future. With that in mind, I came up with Primillithid, the Mind Flayer of a dark future, colloquially called Futureflayers, whose empires and colonies flourished for a time. Before enemies came from within and without, but I shall save those and their genetically engineered guardians for another post, as well as another post with some experiments of Mind Flayers of the present and future.
