I never thought I would do a gofundme, but desperate times call for desperate measures. We’re usually the ones putting money in the Christmas kettles, but not this year.
A week ago I had to drive my family and me across the country to go to my grandpa’s funeral. We estimated the cost the best we could, but it ended up costing more than we could afford. In the end, we still had to go so we could say goodbye properly. After we got back our car started having serious problems that got so bad we can’t drive it anymore. It’s our only car and the bus schedule doesn’t match with our jobs. On top of all that rent is coming up and we’re $900 short. We have to make a partial payment on rent on December 15th and the rest on December 31st.
All of this together has us scared about being evicted and not being able to get to work, which would put us even more strapped for cash.
Right now we have to use either the bus or uber, which is expensive. If we had immediate help we would be fine and would be able to safely avoid eviction and overdraft fees from our bank. If we can get through this crisis we can pay all of our bills safely and be able to pay for the car to be fixed so we can get back to getting to our jobs.
I’ve figured costs for everything and $1,500 would easily cover the rest of the rent, our car, and any late fees that will be charged. Any extra money we may get will be put towards us having any Christmas for our four-year-old.
Anything helps, even just sharing, especially if you can’t donate (which we completely understand).
Any donations would be a huge help to my family and a big Christmas surprise since my family doesn’t know I’m doing this.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and an extra thank you if you’ve decided to share or donate to help my family.
I wish you all have a happy holiday season.
