Seven years later, I finally got all my #ILM show crew pins out of the drawer and into a shadow box. Maybe in another seven I’ll get a proper background and finish laying them out. #lucasfilm #predisney (at Lucasfilm) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPeBpMdD0TC/?utm_medium=tumblr

Achievement Unlocked: VISA!
Okay, so the past week has been an absolute whirlwind (I will write a blog post explaining this within the next few days!) but today has been especially crazy!
First of all, I had my visa appointment this morning! This meant getting up at five in the morning to make myself look somewhat presentable, and then getting a train into london at half six. The night before, I’d been over my documents about eight times, and gotten my mum to do the same thing another three times. On the train, while eating breakfast I had another three checks, including a small panic that I’d lost my passport. Luckily, it was just hidden between two pieces of paper I’d stapled together.
Then, half an hour on the train and twenty minutes on the tube, I arrived at Marble Arch, and made my way over to the American Embassy. There was a huge queue outside, but in typical Rachel fashion I was forty minutes early for my appointment, so I went to sit in the park and checked my documents over another time. Thankfully, due to the magic of Disney soundtracks, time passed pretty quickly, and it was my turn to join the queue.
It took me about half an hour to get through the queue, and security, before I found myself in a huuuuuge room full of around a hundred to two hundred other people waiting just like I was. Luckily for me, I had made friends with the girl in front of me in the queue, Kristie, so the wait to be seen was a little less boring. Her number was called up by the obnoxiously large screen with a Windows 95 tone, and then mine almost straight after. I went up to the counter, gave in my documents, and got them given back to me in a plastic folder. I was then directed to another set of seats where we had to wait to go for the interview stage.
The woman I had for my interview was SO lovely! She asked me where in the States I was going and why, and when I explained my program to her she seemed genuinely excited, telling me how much I’m going to love UCR and will have an incredible time in Disney. She went through how I’m going to pay for my program fees, and after a few clicks and finger scans she told me that everything was approved and I would have my passport back in a few days.
And just like that it was over. I was in and out of the building within 45 minutes, and walked around London for a few hours with the biggest grin on my face.
Since returning home, I’ve now booked all of my flights, as well as a hotel to stay in the night I arrive in Orlando. Now all that I have to do is pay my tuition and healthcare fees and I’m all set to go! I’m insanely excited and terrified. It still doesn’t feel like I’m going, it just feels like an insane dream that won’t ever happen. However, we are now 78 days from departure date, and I honestly can’t wait!!
If you have any questions about the visa process, please don’t hesitate to ask!
Thank you for reading guys!

95 Days to Go
Hello humans!
Just a quick update from me, as I realize it has been forever since I last posted on here! I wish I could say that was because there’s not been much going on, but in truth it’s the opposite! I’ve been craaazy busy! Also, we’re under 100 days to go now too! YAY!
So I guess the most exciting thing to say is that I now know my role! I will be working in costuming operations, although I don’t know yet where. At first, I was a little gutted as I always saw myself working with the guests, however I’ve since noticed what a cool opportunity this is! I’ll be working backstage, handing out costumes, helping performers into costume, and washing the costumes too. I seriously can’t wait, as this means that I’ll get to have an experience that very few people will have, and something I’ve never done before!
Also, I finally have my visa appointment booked! I’ll make a separate blog post about the whole visa situation when that comes around, but I’ve finished all of the paperwork and have my appointment in just over two weeks!
As I said in the introduction, we are now under 100 days! (At the time of writing, 95 days to be exact.) Things are finally starting to get real and very terrifying, but at the same time so exciting! At the moment I’m just focusing on spending time with my friends at University that will have graduated by the time I get back. I’ve gotten so close to so many people over the past few months, and so as much as saying goodbye is gonna suck, I know I’ll see them again.
AND FINALLY I went to see Beauty and the Beast on Friday. I really had my reservations, as the original is a film I hold SO close to my heart, but oh my god. As soon as the overture music started, I had tears in my eyes. Again, I’ll make a separate blog post about the film in a few days!
Until then, I’m always active on my instagram account: @rachelsmagicaladventure

I GOT ACCEPTED!
Phew. Okay. Deep breath. So the last few days have been possibly the most insane ever. Ever since I got the email to say I got selected for an interview, I have been so on edge about the fact that I could possibly get the change to live my dream. Every day since my interview I've been checking my emails and Disney Dashboard anything up to five times an hour. Let's just say I am not the most patient of people. Every time I checked and saw no response, my heart sunk a little. Then it hit Friday 9th December. I'd been checking my emails every hour so in work as per usual. And as per usual, nothing. Just as a side note, I was pretty ill that day as well, I left work early and had to go to the doctors just to make sure I wasn't too ill, as I had to chaperone a dance show the day after and didn't want to infect any children. (I'm fine by the way :)) Then, on the train home that night, I saw one of the girls on our Disney Applicants group chat simply post the word "RESULTS!" I freaked out. It took me a few minutes just to get the courage to check my emails, and another few to get my shaking hands to actually work my phone. Then I saw it. "Disney International Programs: CONGRATULATIONS" I hadn't even opened the email before I started crying. It still hasn't hit me now. I'm going to work in Walt Disney World. I get to fulfill a dream that I've had literally since childhood. Who gets to say that? Mickey Mouse is my boss!! So I fly out to California on June 24th 2017, then to Florida on July 10th, where I will be working until January 4th 2018! I don't know yet what role I have, but I will inform you when I find out. If you are coming out to WDW at any point while I'm working, let me know? It would be so great to meet some friendly faces! I can't wait to share this adventure with you guys! Love you all <3 Rachel xox
Pre Disney - Brandon & Maya.
It had been a long day of throwing everything out of her suitcase and putting everything back in the suitcase for her. And that entire ordeal didn't just happen once, it happened twice or maybe even three times. But she didn't mind, she was still checking through just to make sure she had everything. And just when she was about to zip her first suitcase up, her phone vibrated signalling she had another text from her new friend Brandon and after a couple more texts back and forth, she was heading out the door to go take a food run and probably end up helping with packing. Slipping her phone and keys into her pocket, she quickly headed over to his dorm knocking on the door. "Duuuuude. I'm heeere and this hall smells funny." She laughed at herself before awaiting his arrival at the door.
