When Gordon first comes in contact with the ham radio, he is speaking an unidentifiable foreign language. This language is never discussed afterwards. Willie says he does not recognize the language, implying that it is not a language of Earth.

Basically, I was watching a recording of the 40th Primetime Emmy Awards from 1988, and there's a segment where Gordon does some monologuing, introductions, and makes complaints about how he wasn't nominated. But halfway through, I noticed something shiny on his right ear.

At first I thought this was some sort of prop headpiece, but then I got to this shot.

At this point, I think it's an earring. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a good shot because his hair covers it most of the time.

Here's another picture from the event. You can't see it the most clearly because of the angle, but you can tell there's something shiny on his right ear.

And the there's this picture that's just been sitting in my drive for a while, which I'm pretty sure is from the same event. At first I couldn't see it, but after looking closer, I think I might be able to see something on his right ear.

If this is an actually an earring that I'm seeing, then this is pretty cool, because the three other instances of him wearing earrings were played for laughs (as the drummer in the YTOWOOTW music video, for the seance scene in "I've Got a New Attitude", and in "Hail to the Chief" when he's messing around in Kate's jewelry box). Although there's no attention drawn to them in any of the other instances (maybe except for "Hail to the Chief), and there's no attention drawn to it here, this is the first time it's there just to be part of his wardrobe. He's just wearing it. Whoever does wardrobe for the puppet outside of the sitcom just decided that it looked good with the tuxedo. If this is true, and I am not seeing something completely different than what is actually there, then that's awesome. They should totally slap earrings on the puppet more.
