New lore drop for the Yautja verse! Specifically, the clan from which my Yautjas come from!
The Red Jungle clan
Named after their particular environment where a specific tree grows in abundance, called the Crimson Spills, due to the bright scarlet leaves it grows all year and the red resin it produces, which can appear like blood to the untrained eye. This in turn creates thick vegetation that's mostly colored red and even the river that passes through their territory can have shades of ruby colors due to minerals in the soil.
As a result, a lot of Yautja that hail from said clan have red scales or accents of it, which is quite eye-catching, but they make up for their lack of camouflage with their strength, fiery spirit and cunning hunting strategies.
It is said that if you give birth or bathe a newborn pup in the waters of the Ruby river, their scales will turn red, but that's more or less just a myth.
Wy'ld was born into the clan by Kuuma (Sire) and Wuut'ka (Bearer), which are also life mates and they raised her together. However, Sam'wa and Sav'kat were adopted into the clan.
Sam'wa parents are Ther'va and Zan'ab, two males who are also bonded for life and are Ex-Enforcers, who left their team to raise her. They are still called upon occasionally to take care of 'special tasks' for Elites. Sam'wa original bearer died because of a Bad Blood and that's how the two found themselves adopting her. When they settled down into the clan, Wuut'ka is the one that taught them how to look after pups and that's how Wy'ld and Sam'wa ended up growing together almost like sisters.
Sav'Kat original clan almost got wiped out due to a Bad Blood attack, until the Red Jungle clan intervened to look for survivors. Sav'kat original sire was a very close friend of Kuuma, and they made each other a promise to look after their pups if something were to happen to the other, so he adopted the little one without hesitation. Along with a hunting hound, which protected the pup during the attack. And that's how Wy'ld and Sav'kat became adopted siblings.
Could I humbly ask for some Bahk’tan lore pretty please
SURE !!!
Okay so he's old he's about 1000 years old (ik he doesn't look that old), so he's an ancient and he's gonna become a clan leader. He's not as active in the hunts as he used to be, but he's one of the most powerful yautjas in his clan and he's very honorable. He has survived many battles and hunts and he has healed from all his wounds, so he no longer has any scratches on his body. He doesn't fight very often anymore, so he doesn't have any new wounds. However, he still participates in group hunts and is in charge of teaching some techniques to the younger ones (he still fights when he has to, he still kinda enjoys it). He was very serious in his learning when he was younger and was and still is very feared, now he takes more time for himself. Abt his love life, he had several relationships when he was younger and then focused on his learning. He then found a very strong female yautja whom he loved very much, but unfortunately she died in battle and now he doesn't have anyone. He also has no children
I HOPE YOU LIKED THE LORE HEHE
do the Yautja understand human language freely, without the use of an interpreter in their masks?
Short answer? No, I personally don't think so.
Yautja have their own language and have no reason to be taught earth languages unless they learn it on their own time, which I believe the average Yautja would not feel necessary. The Yautja visit earth for hunts and blooding rituals, and are specifically advised against general communication with humans.
However, due to the amount of time and resources they've invested into our planet, I do believe earth is very well documented. I also think their masks can easily act as an access point to a databank containing information about earth cultures, language, and other important things if they were to need it on the fly.
The only canon group of Yautja I would see being able to speak English and understand it without a mask would be the Lost Clan from Predators 2.

Challenges of Dating a Yautja
Haha, buckle up.
They smell bad. Like naturally bad. Motor oil, bitter motor oil. They have scent blockers sure but don’t expect them to use them all them time.
They are tall. Very tall. Anyone who has dated someone significantly taller will tell you how high the risk of getting elbowed in the face is. So learn their damage AoE before they take out your eye.
No lips. No conventional kisses. Get creative or suffer. Watch the mandibles. They are very sharp.
Their claws -especially the toe claws- will rip the shit out of your sheets and mattress.
The big one. You’re probably going to have to sacrifice a little bit of your morality to justify being in a relationship with someone that actively hunts humans. If you’ve been together awhile you can ask about them not doing that anymore, but that’s up to them ultimately. They might try to compromise if you find it truly upsetting but it’s person to person. Some might drop you just for asking.
They’ve traveled the galaxy. So sometimes they might make you feel a little stupid when they talk about their adventures. It can border on condescending sometimes, the way they talk about your species.
Which leads to this, they put a lot of value into a partner who is an open and honest communicator. They are a different species with different body language and spoken language. If something upsets you, you have to say something. They aren’t likely to pick up on it otherwise.
They aren’t stupid though. If you start crying they’ll know something is wrong.
They can have burrs and spines, most obvious example is the Elder from AVP. Those can cut human skin, so cuddling can be a dangerous endeavor.
They can eat pretty much anything. Don’t let them cook for you without running it by you first. The risk of accidental poisoning is high.
I think a good example of a yautja showing compassion (aside from basic life-sparing) would be Dachande in the AvP: Prey novel. Instead of just basic cooperation, he actively has positive thoughts about Machiko, and when a friend of hers (someone who he considered respectful and "sensitive") is killed, he treats the body gently and uses his bio-mask playback to tell Machiko "I'm sorry."
Definitely! Dachande & Machiko were a very good team. He’s also a really well fleshed out Yautja. But, man, I haven’t read Prey in years. That was like a book I first read back in middle school.
Miriam was a good character, she treated him. I think him returning the empathy is a good example too, for sure. Honestly I think I’ll start with Prey / the OG comic run when I do my re-tread through the franchise. That’ll be a huge nostalgia trip. And there’s a lot of lore that stems from it.
Has there been an instance where a Yautja displayed compassion or empathy towards humans? Beside being shown mercy or being spared from death?
I think there are a COUPLE / FEW instances where you could argue they’re canonically showing a deeper emotional range to humans. They have it, but in general it is simply respect, and mercy that’s shown.
I’ve been meaning to do a complete go through of the entire Predator franchise again. Read stuff I haven’t in years. So I’ll keep an eye out, and maybe do little talks about certain stories, & Predators.
