Why St Berry is a great couple
Review made by a non-St Berry shipper that I would like to share:
I'm neither a St. Berry nor a Finchel shipper. I love Rachel, though. She is my favorite character on the show. I'm not sure if I would want Rachel with Jesse in the long run, but that isn't going to happen so it doesn't really matter. I really want Rachel to have a little fling with Jesse. They have similar temperaments. They have similar interests. Jesse actually enjoys her drama and her crazy because he's even more of a drama queen than she is. She was always unapologetically herself with Jesse. Sure, he's arrogant and pretentious, but sometimes so is she. More importantly, Rachel doesn't mind. It would be a great boost to her self-esteem. She's been suffering long enough. She deserves a little fun. I think she'd have fun with Jesse. Sam wasn't wearing a bolo tie because he is poor. Sam thought it was cool because he saw Bruce Springsteen wearing a similar suit and tie on an album cover. It was a dork moment on Sam's part. Jesse and Mercedes were making fun of his dorky fashion sense, not his poverty. And Jesse was right when he said Sam had nothing to be ashamed of because the economic sucks and lots of people are in the same position. As for the egging:
I am honestly a little sick of the egging haunting them. I loved that scene. Everyone is so focused on the fact that he egged her that they are missing the details. It's not always about what you do, but why and how you do it. He told her he loved her. She told him to egg her. He looked absolutely torn. He didn't leave immediately. For crying out loud, his peers were standing around pressuring him to do it. Well, Jesse is sorry that he was a weak teenager like any other teenager in that moment. Fact is .. most teenagers will succumb to peer pressure and choose their friends. In that way, Rachel's response was very similar to Kurt's response when he grabbed the slushie out of Finn's hands and threw it in his own face. And Jesse said that he regretted hurting her and seemed sincere when he said it. As others have said, Rachel was enjoying it when Jesse was kissing her neck. She was laughing the whole time. Besides, they were always very physically comfortable and affectionate with each other when they were dating. Jesse was usually draped around Rachel whenever they sat together and she was always relaxed and comfortable in his embrace. He apologized in TPOM for pressuring her to go all the way. Later, he was very understanding when she said she was ready and then changed her mind. He just listened to her reasons without trying to persuade her into bed. He's been a normal guy, not a seedy perv. And he never once called her a prude or made her feel undesirable or unfavorably compared her with another girl. And if Jesse were going to be around longer, I'd want Rachel to go all the way with him. I'm tired of the "Rachel is a prude" characterization she's been given in S2. She was never prudish with Jesse. I want Rachel to do it out of desire and curiosity -- and maybe love, too, because Rachel is a romantic. Jesse is a great choice as partner. Don't mind me. I'm just sick of the virgin-whore complex and double standard that the Glee writers have toward female sexuality. If the males of the Meant To Be couples aren't saving it for their One True Love, then there's no reason why the females should. Let them reunite on an equal footing. If they're in love, it will still be special.
