Iâve started doing the pre-reading for next semester (for courses which have yet to assign it, Iâm using relevant Coursera courses). Â Guess which one Iâve been enjoying least? Â And which one I perceive as struggling with most?

First week back to uni tomorrow and already the reading seems endless. At least one of my modules is on mental health promotion!
Hi! I'm thinking of applying to read English, but my insecurities are getting the better of me. How much do I need to cover before the interview? Would it be embarrassing if I've not read every Shakespeare play or if I'm unfamiliar with "Jane Eyre"? :(
Aww, no love, donât let those nasty insecurities get you down, theyâre a real menace. It definitely would not be embarassing if you havenât read every single Shakespeare play or if youâre unfamiliar with Jane Eyre -- I mean, how are you supposed to have literally read every single book thatâs considered classic/modern literature? Youâre coming to university to learn, and youâre definitely not expected to know everything beforehand! Just keep reading the books that you like -- maybe branch out and try to cover a couple of texts from the different periods that Cambridge does (you can find those HERE) so you can show that youâre interested in a broad range of work!
