Steve rolls over in bed, expecting the space beside him to be empty. Instead he comes into contact with Bucky’s shoulder, solid and warm.  “Mm,” he sighs, snuggling closer.
“Hey.” Bucky pulls away, his exposed arm shaking as though with cold.
The pieces don’t add up. “What’s wrong?” Steve reaches for him again, managing to cup Bucky’s chin before he escapes the bed.  “You running a temperature or something?”
“No,” Bucky answers defiantly. “Just… Didn’t want to wake you up.”
“Right. And that’s something you worry about all the time.” Steve rolls his eyes.
“It is,” Bucky insists, though he wipes his nose on his shoulder as he speaks.
“Right,” Steve says again, shaking his head.  “You get back in bed.”
“It’s not that bad. I have to work–”
“You have to get well. I have enough sickness for the both of us.” Steve grins sadly.  “Take one day to rest up.”
Bucky wearily swipes his hand across his forehead. He looks at the bed, tempted. He sighs and shoots a rude gesture at Steve, but tucks himself back in all the same.
Pre-serum stucky is my favourite stucky
