in his more sober moods, vernon really likes to eat, and he likes to eat good. he’s very into seafood despite some conflicting feelings about fish having souls, and he’s working through a bucket list/gastonomic to-do list. top of the list is fugu sashimi.

even the toilet paper in his place is pink. it’s gotta match the rest of the bathroom. including the shag carpet.

LAYER ONE : THE OUTSIDE

NAME -  Hugo Marquardt EYE COLOUR -  Hazel HAIR STYLE / COLOUR -  Chestnut, almost an ash color at times, kept very short with a small quiff.  HEIGHT -  5′11′’. CLOTHING STYLE - Rather fashionable, or really modern and minimal. He sticks with neutrals, the few colors he indulges in being navy blues, hunter greens, and mustard yellow. For work, he’s always in a button-up and slacks, for professionalism, but at home, it’s usually jeans, gray loungers, and sweaters..he loves a good sweater. BEST PHYSICAL FEATURE - Hugo likes his laugh lines. The way his eyes wrinkle when he smiles or the dimples that appear when he laughs. He thinks it makes him look less intimidating...although not much actually makes him laugh in the first place.

LAYER TWO : THE INSIDE

FEARS -  He wouldn’t say he fears a lot, more like he’s concerned about a number of things; how some days his PTSD acts up a lot and he can’t seem to function well. The idea of accidentally running into his mother. The idea of being forced to go back into war for whatever reason. The idea that he ever has to fight again.  GUILTY PLEASURE -  Hugo is extremely goal-oriented and a very hard-working man...but sometimes, on his days off and when he has nothing more to do...he likes being lazy. It’s very self-indulgent to just sit in PJs, watching TV, eating chips with his feet up and giving crumbs to Traugott, just not being an active member of society for a moment.  BIGGEST PET PEEVE -  People who use their long lights all the time. Traffic. People who make assumptions. The neighbor cats that roam where they please and knock over his trash cans.  AMBITIONS FOR THE FUTURE - For one that is such a workaholic, he hasn’t thought much about this. He didn’t think he’d live to be as old as he was currently so it wasn’t a priority for him to have goals...that being said, even if he was given every opportunity imaginable, he doesn’t think he’d do much else aside just...live. He’d like to see the world. Take photos. Learn new things. He’s already trying to branch out more whenever he has vacation time, especially since it’s currently very easy for him (he has no wife or children, there’s very little he needs to worry about). 

LAYER THREE : THOUGHTS

FIRST THOUGHTS UPON WAKING UP: ...What am I doing today-- WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT MOST:  What is the music like now? I only ever get to experience the beat... as a young man, vernon always dreamed of having a red sports car, something fast and pointy and insect-looking. he has since realized that what he really needed was a bubblegum pink car with a roof that goes down and fuzzy dice hanging from the rear-view.

he has a bullshit certificate declaring him an ordained minister, technically, but we all know he’s ended more marriages (six or seven he knows of) than he’s conducted (zero).

this guy has a real gift for dealing with the intoxicated. i’m talking like the dog whisperer for people who are drunk or on party drugs. he’s all about good vibes, making sure everybody’s having a nice time, and failing that, damage control. he’ll make sure you drink some fuckin’ water and get home in one piece.

“So you had a bad day?” Everyone says that to try and worm themselves out of paying. And, for once, Jasper doesn’t care. This isn’t his operation anymore, even though it never was that formal. At least not until Thoth came around, liked his product and wanted it to be manufactured. Now he’s busying than ever but it seemed every month Thoth and his little middle man were pushing for more product and paying him less.

Ada Stern– Nurse, and a damn good one. Wherever there’s a crisis, Ada’s who you want on board. She’s quick, sharp as a tack– seems to just know what was wrong and how to fix it. Everyone says she should have been a doctor but Ada always just smiles and shakes her head, remarking how in her job she gets to truly connect and care while a doctor is bogged down by too much paperwork and regulation.
