Not a throwback photo I like posting of the last time I was a Pallbearer at a fellow brother officer's funeral. Watching a police chief give the devastated mother, spouse or child receive the memorial flag and totally lose it. Ugh 😓 I've been praying a lot, taking a lot of deep breaths , hiking, praying and oh yeah, praying in the last 48 hours. We need understanding, empathy, kindness, love, comfort for all lives lost, safety for our hometown heroes, unity, the nation, the list is long. I also wanted to apologize as well for letting the negativity come one out without a positive solution. Being a Gulf War Vet and serving as a military and civilian police officer for 15 years, truth, fairness, Justice, upholding the laws of my state and city and defending our country,. I posted this on my Instagram a week ago, but felt like sharing it on my Tumblr. 2nd year at BR's Pride event! I had a lot of fun with these beautiful people! Even though there were protesters outside (as always) we got to safely attend the event that makes us all feel included & loved. We safely went to Splash that night & had a great time. The club had people of different races, sexual orientations, religions, etc. It didn't matter who you were, everyone was treated with love & acceptance. The next day when I heard about what happened in Orlando, it sent shivers down my spine. My thoughts are with those affected by the shooting & their families❤️ This could've happened anywhere. It's so sad that this kind of hate still exists. You don't have to agree with everything, but there's no reason to act with violence. #PrayersForOrlando #PrayersForLove #PrayersForUnity #Pride
