Pragmatophobia
This is a lapse in judgement but I want to put out there, a word that I think needs more expression.
Pragmatophobia; the fear of reality.
If it hurts to hear what is real, if it causes fear, anxiety, anger, depression- which often it does- it that is not the fault of the ones speaking truth. By Truth, I mean real, observable, measurable by your own hands reality. Not exclusive to Honesty, which is expression of the perceived truth of ones subjective experience. (It Is vs I Feel)
I personally think, the more balanced our Objectivity is with our Subjectivity the more comfortable and confident we can feel as individuals, it takes accuracy to make meaningful progress.
Reality is being disputed passionately these days, but- its not an excuse to wish harm on either side. Malice is fundamentally to be avoided. Its nuanced, but definable and definite.
I am wishing for culture change, where intolerance is viewed negatively regardless of which group it targets. (ie, rising popularity and acceptance in hating those who are White, Cis, Straight, Christian/Catholic, Vaccinated, Unvaccinated etc.)
Being a victim doesn't provide anyone a license to be malicious, to make a victim of someone else. An eye for an eye leaves everyone blind.
Hate cannot make peace, this I believe is true.
