Was the program that gave Darkstar his powers originally just sor super soldiers that are just enhanced humans? Or were they going for something further like forlorn or ignis type of abilities?
The former! It was a very early program intended to see if the US could manage to increase the abilities of regular humans, and mostly for prestige/battlefield applications than any realm arms race with regular-born powered people.
Think of it kind of like a proof of concept test, just them trying to see if it's possible.
The government wouldn't even know how to approach Ignis' whole "I'm just a breathing living nuclear reactor, and my heart would put the Tsar Bomba to shame :)", and frankly, I don't think they even know that's what's going on.

Anonymous said: Pros and Cons of a Seer of Void? And would they have any power in the furthest ring/horrortales as well?
In my opinion, all Void plays have some tuning, for lack of a better word, to the Furthest Ring. Some classes are better equipped to communicate with the Horrorterrors (Seers, Mages, possibly Sylphs), and some are particularly good at channeling their power (Witches and Princes). So your Seer would have influence because they listen to the Horrorterrors.
Pros
You know exactly who ate your leftovers. Exact your revenge accordingly.
I canât even give a bad remark about your outfit i love it
Talking to the horrorterrors!
Cons
Calm down Rose, youâre not that edgy
Talking to the horrorterrors.
You can definitely see the void with that hood in your face
If youâd like a general overview of possible powers, I cover those in the analysis I did here. For specific powers asks, I go in-depth on a subset of powers, rather than overviewing the entire thing, as powers can be very much up to interpretation and growth. For this one, Iâll go in-depth on the âinspireâ subset of the Pageâs powers, since those can be the most flexible in many cases.
(As this got somewhat long and involved, the rest is under a read more.)
So on the other analysis, I briefly covered how this aspect might manifest in regards to creativity/creation. To quote:
âThey would likely be able to inspire creativity in others simply by being near themâthat is, they would be able to inspire their teammates to be able to solve problems creatively, come up with novel solutions, and just simply create new things. (âŚ) The flipside of this is that they can also inspire creationâwhich, if taken to a very literal interpretation, can mean that they could potentially create something problematic in a co-playerâs body much like a Life player could.Â
âBasically? Given the right circumstances, they could potentially trigger diseases and illnesses by inspiring the creation of more infectious bacteria/viruses, creation of mutated stem cells (cancer), and possibly neurochemical imbalances as well.â
Now, thatâs pretty damn scary if I do say so myself; and thatâs just one little facet of Space.Â
Another facet of this might be that the Page could inspire âmass/matterâ in others/objects. I donât say events, as this is going to get a little technical, but please bear with me.Â
Mass can be briefly explained as how much matter you have. No matter where you are, you always have the same amount of matterâspace, on Earth, on the moonâŚyour mass doesnât change. Itâs an intrinsic property. Objects that have mass tend to attract other objects with mass by a âforceâ that we call âgravityâ.
Secondly, our universe operates within four dimensionsâthree spatial dimensions (up/down, forward/backwards, left/right; the âwhereâ), and one time dimension (the âwhenâ). Together, they make up the fabric of our universe: spacetime.Â
Now, hereâs why thatâs important: gravity doesnât really existâspacetime does. Essentially, the âforceâ that acts upon objects with mass is spacetimeâŚexcept itâs not really a force. Itâs the object conforming to its natural tendency to follow a straight line. (If youâd like a more in-depth explanation, VSauce has an excellent video on the topic here.)
In any case, the important part to take away from this is that spacetime tells mass how to moveâand mass tells spacetime how to curve.
If you know anything about General Relativity, then you probably know something about how mass curves spacetime, thereby creating the âeffectâ of âgravityâ. Itâs often depicted as objects (usually the solar system/the sun and the Earth) on a flat grid that curves around (and âbelowâ) the celestial bodies.
Basically, what Iâm getting at is that a Page of Space can Inspire âmassâ in others/objectsâand thereby, Inspire local curvature in spacetime.
If thatâs not super cool, I donât know what is.Â
It gets even cooler, because what does intense curvature in spacetime effect? Time! Heavy gravitational fields produce whatâs known as time dilationâbasically, the more strongly affected you are by gravity (which I will call gravity, for expediencyâs sake), the slower time moves for you relative to others. This is why the closer you are to a black hole, the less time will pass for you relative to others farther away.
Essentially, a Page of Space may also be able to create localized time dilation effects via Inspiring intense curvature in local spacetime.Â
On top of that, if you put enough mass into a bounded area, you eventually reach a point called a singularityâbasically, thatâs where you have enough mass packed into that small area that its gravitational field becomes strong enough that not even light can escape. (This is, coincidentally, why black holes are formed from certain stars when they go supernovaâthey collapse in on themselves enough such that enough mass is compacted into a small enough area to reach a singularity.)
I.e., a Page of Space (at high enough levels, though I think thatâs rather implied) may also be able to turn objects/others into black holes through virtue of Inspiring mass/matter.
TL;DR: basically, a Page of Space can probably Inspire localized spacetime shenanigans, including âgravityâ, localized time dilation, and turning objects/others into black holes.
That feels like it'd be too big a spoiler to answer right now, don't you think? đ¤ After all, I'd be taking some pretty huge plot twist's surprise factor away, in case you did have extra powers...*
I've got no idea if somebody's asked this already, but are powers related to genetics? Is a child of two superpowered people going to be certain to be similarly powered? If so, do the powers of the parent have anything to do with it?
Hello! No, I'm afraid that's not the case. Whether a human has powers or not (or what kind of powers they have, even) isn't related to their parents, at least as far as humanity can tell. Powers are very much a lottery (which people like the King, the Queen, and a certain other figure all won). Even if you're super lucky to have powered parents and be powered yourself, there's zero assurance your powers would be even remotely similar.
Powers may affect the appearance of your children, though! For example, if Mars ever has kids, then it's very likely they'll have red eyes as well, though they won't have his super senses.
Anyway, most of the League's family doesn't have powers, speaking of. One of the closest relations is a far off (think... late 19th century, more or less) relation of Latooni. Her descendants didn't get powers, but she did leave them a little something to remember her for, in the way of Latooni's (and Mama Kitamura's) hair color. It's naturally purple.

Can forlorn and seeker break the sound barrierđđ¤¨đ¤¨đ¤¨
Hello!
Yes, they can! Pretty much the whole League (and a not-so-insignificant part of Powered people in general) can do this. Even Nova and Mars, who are technically the physically weakest, are capable of catching and dodging bullets with relative ease.
So a Sylph of Breath would, basically, heal freedom, direction, wind, breath, motivation, etc, use these to heal others, and allow the creation of these.
In that sense, I could see a Sylph of Breath freeing someone from something that was chaining them--whether actual chains, or emotional burdens, or someone holding them back somehow--through their actions. They would also be able to heal the breath of someone; say, if someone was suffering from an asthma attack, they would not only be able to relax and soothe the airways so that that person could breathe again, but also likely be able to heal their asthma.Â
They'd also be able to manipulate the air to some extent--as most Breath users can--and likely to able to manipulate water somewhat (which, again, depending on how they develop, most Breath users may be able to).Â
However, a lot of this Sylphâs power comes in more subtly--theyâd be the subtle motivational center of their session, creating motivation, direction, and goals within their co-players. In this sense, the Sylph pushes their session forward, not allowing their co-players to be trapped or unmotivated to win.
Anonymous said: Just wondering, would a Witch of Void potentially have some sort of power over the Horrorterros/the Furthest Ring?
Oh yeah.
Definitely.
If not power, then as a Witch of Void you definitely have influence with the Furthest Ring and the Horrorterrors (even more so if youâre a Derse dreamer).
