Name: Inviso
Debut: Yoshiâs Story
Oh dear! This man looks very distressed. Will someone help him?Â
Yeah, Halloween may be over, but itâs always season for a ghost or two! Take it from me! Wear your Halloween costume to the convenience store- there are no laws against it! I want to say I held off doing this in October because this ghost isnât quite scary enough... but really, itâs way too scary! If you saw this in your house, wouldnât you be terrified?
Whatâs Inviso do? Turn invisible. Were you expecting any surprises? If so, Iâm sorry, but you really shouldnât expect anything at all from the bosses in Yoshiâs Story. Well, he also summons Peepers, but thatâs about it.Â
Here he is, invisible! But not that invisible, since you can see his face. Itâs not like that all the time, I promise! You can sort of make out his shape amongst the background, which I assume was a visual effect they were very proud of, since itâs literally the only thing he does. He feels like a proto-Hector the Reflector, doesnât he?Â
Say, doesnât he look a lot happier in-game? What happened to him, for his render to look... like that? Inviso, buddy, you need to talk?Â
Of course, like every other boss in Yoshiâs Story, he also gets one, count âem, one line of dialogue! These are always fun to go through.Â
âPeek a boo! Who are you? Peek a bee! Can't find me!â
                        -Inviso, 1997
So much personality shines through in this one line of dialogue! Like, uh... the fact that he likes playing Peek-a-Boo. Or, if the Wiki is to be believed, heâs downright OBSESSED with the game of Peek-a-Boo! But what does âpeek a beeâ mean? I certainly would like to peek at bees, but...
Could it be Power Bee? They do show up during this fight, for some reason. Much like real life, you can eat a Power Bee to regain health! It doesnât give you Power, as the name would imply. Itâs called Happiness Butterfly in Japan, but it doesnât give you happiness, either. Bees, butterflies... theyâre all the same, really!
