Name: Inviso
Debut: Yoshiâs Story
Oh dear! This man looks very distressed. Will someone help him?Â
Yeah, Halloween may be over, but itâs always season for a ghost or two! Take it from me! Wear your Halloween costume to the convenience store- there are no laws against it! I want to say I held off doing this in October because this ghost isnât quite scary enough... but really, itâs way too scary! If you saw this in your house, wouldnât you be terrified?
Whatâs Inviso do? Turn invisible. Were you expecting any surprises? If so, Iâm sorry, but you really shouldnât expect anything at all from the bosses in Yoshiâs Story. Well, he also summons Peepers, but thatâs about it.Â
Here he is, invisible! But not that invisible, since you can see his face. Itâs not like that all the time, I promise! You can sort of make out his shape amongst the background, which I assume was a visual effect they were very proud of, since itâs literally the only thing he does. He feels like a proto-Hector the Reflector, doesnât he?Â
Say, doesnât he look a lot happier in-game? What happened to him, for his render to look... like that? Inviso, buddy, you need to talk?Â
Of course, like every other boss in Yoshiâs Story, he also gets one, count âem, one line of dialogue! These are always fun to go through.Â
âPeek a boo! Who are you? Peek a bee! Can't find me!â
                        -Inviso, 1997
So much personality shines through in this one line of dialogue! Like, uh... the fact that he likes playing Peek-a-Boo. Or, if the Wiki is to be believed, heâs downright OBSESSED with the game of Peek-a-Boo! But what does âpeek a beeâ mean? I certainly would like to peek at bees, but...
Could it be Power Bee? They do show up during this fight, for some reason. Much like real life, you can eat a Power Bee to regain health! It doesnât give you Power, as the name would imply. Itâs called Happiness Butterfly in Japan, but it doesnât give you happiness, either. Bees, butterflies... theyâre all the same, really!

A prototype of Birmingham Look Up App
Here is a link to a prototype of an app that I have created. It is the first type that I have created a prototype and I am very proud that I was able to do so. In my previous projects I have designed app but never had a chance to create a prototype.Â
I feel like I want to practice creating more apps and perhaps develop this one further later in the year.Â

one to visit: INVISO
Final year students at Staffordshire University are showcasing INVISO a new and exciting photographic exhibition, at both the University and at CUBE in Manchester. The exhibition will be the culmination of three years of study and presents imagery from thirty-one graduates covering many genres from documentary, portraiture, fashion, landscape and art projects, including contemporary and traditional images utilising black and white, colour, digital and traditional processes.
Photography is a part of every day life with millions of images being uploaded on social media sites and camera phones it might beg the question therefore, what are photographs and what do they communicate? INVISO aims to show that visual communication through photographs can tell a story, describe or reveal things or even in some instances function as a form of therapy. In Yvonne Grimshaw Bakerâs intimate documentary series âThe Weird Toeâ she photographs her sister who is intersex, which she states has helped both become closer in the process. In a different way Kelly Mitchell through props and costumes, and Cerian Chandlerâs self portraits are using the medium to examine mental illness. In Ian Gothamâs series âHere Be Dragonsâ is an eerie night urban vision and Kevin Cleggâs long exposures depict the effect of the metropolitan crowd in motion. Tish Scripps challenges the way we think about beauty and body, whilst Steve Ferneyhoughâs work expresses his religious faith. Ian Hilditchâs black and white photograph explore ancient sites like Arbor Low in Derbyshire, while Cat Egerton details decaying meat and reflects upon the beautiful image once we have detached ourselves from the difficult subject matter. This is a show of contrasts.
Participating artists: Yvonne Grimshaw Baker, Matthew Basham, Claude Beard, Lizzie Bennett, Nancy Briscoe, Kat Burns, Cerian Chandler, Kevin Clegg, James Daley, Sam Davis, Cat Egerton, Kat Edwards, Steve Ferneyhough, Ian Gotham, Daisy Harper, Ian Hilditch, Emily Hrab, Alex Jenkinson, Mitchell Leek, Jess Minshull, Kelly Mitchell, Jim Phillis, Tish Scripps, David Sidley, Rob Simms, Ami Springthorpe, Emma Tasker, Ben Warburton, Michelle Waters, Louise Webster and Becky Williams. Through a series of talks and workshops we hope to engage with people about the potential of photography and to recognise that photography can influence and make a difference to the things that matter to them.
