Valentines day chocolate box

Here my last painting of the year and the decade! Called “Surrender to the Flow”, I mostly unburied it at my recent “Healing Visions” retreat in the jungle of Peru. I started it as my first ever attempt at the “pouring medium technique”, which gave me a psychedelic mess to figure out. It definitely was a tricky art equation to figure out, but the figures eventually emerged so I kept refining it, and tried to push back the background behind, while keeping it Interesting. All of this goes process of flow went along my lessons of surrendering to the challenging ways of the medicine and to life, as they know it all eventually leads to beauty/God. I was uncertain at many points that this painting would look good, but now I’m very happy how it turned around! These abstract paintings were the outcomes of my experiments with Liquitex pouring medium mixed with my acrylic paint and a cup. As you can see the top photos are of the early stages of the mixing and I thought it looked lovely. I added more paint however and that lead to the lumps of paint. Before I added more paint that equalled the lumps I was hoping to experiment with fluid art. The blue abstract was due to the same idea and experiments. I prefer the red paintings. In my opinion, I like the lumps of paint I learnt from all these experiment.
