If you know me, then you know I love the rich history and integrity of #whiskey so learning about @glendaloughdistillery with @doublemeasuredonal was a real treat for me. We chatted about their #potstill Irish Whiskey aged in Irish Oak barrels and I am fortunate to try some #irishwhiskey from their first cask. They sustainably fell these 140 year old trees around the distillery and for each tree felled replanted 7 new ones, and I got to say the #whiskey is spectacular and easy to drink and the #irishoak brings out so much vanilla. I can’t even imagine how good #caskstrength would be in these Irish Oak hogsheads 🤤. The second edition of the Master Blender Collection is this Pot Still Rum, the first from new master blender Trudiann Branker. It is very different from last year’s XO Peat Smoke Expression, but it’s still an interesting release. No column still rum was used, just pot distilled rum made back in 2009 and finished in ex-whiskey casks.
