know any good post-manga/final act fics? any help is much appreciated~
Hm, this is a pretty broad category. But you did give us a couple of handy clues to sort by!By your mention of both the manga AND “Final Act” (the name of the final anime season), I assume that you are okay with “manga canon” OR “anime canon” (which should broaden it a bit). But by “post-manga/final act” I also assume you meant actually written after those parts of the manga/anime were released; i.e. wasn’t written before the ending was available, keeps those portions of the story intact, and is canon-based (rather than AU, or you would have mentioned AU as an alternative, I assume?).This means that sadly, some of the ones I’ve liked or even loved wouldn’t count, as they were actually written well in advance of the ending of the manga being released but included/mentioned an ‘end/resolution’ to the Jewel Crisis, and thus ended up wildly contradicting both the manga ending and Final Act, becoming effectively an AU. Whoops.So...right now the only one I can think of is one that was recommended to us in the past few months via a request for MirSan fics: the series “The Eightfold Path” by psycochick32 (hosted on fanfiction.net -- trigger warnings: self-destructive behavior, death, violence). I will warn you in advance that I indeed thought Eightfold Path was good (in fact, it does a really good job of making Miroku sympathetic while taking his religion into account, building off of canon’s ending material, and keeping real Japanese history in mind, not exactly a small feat IMO) but... IT IS GUTWRENCHING. Absolutely. Not all of it IIRC, but certainly by the end. It’s touching, sweet, occasionally funny, sad, very sad, and then absolutely gutwrenching. If you’re prone to Feels it stands a good chance of making you cry at the end, I’m not even kidding. So if you’re up for something that could give you The Sads, and, you’re cool with MirSan and would like to see Miroku get some good character development, that’s one I could recommend. If not, then I can’t remember anything else off the top of my head which means posing this to our readers:Readers: Do you know any good, canon-based, ‘post-canon’ Inuyasha fanfic that was written after the official ending(s) was/were released and takes the official ending(s) into account?
