here’s your reminder to breathe, check your posture and release any tension you may find

something i think a lot of people but young people especially need to learn is how to just let others take fault for their actions towards you. People being jerks, sexist, racist, homophobic. I think a lot of us are taught to look at ourselves for blame and see how, in some way, we contributed to the way we’re treated. I think part of this comes from seeing the good in others, which is a beautiful thing but sometimes people are just assholes. Treat it like an obstacle on your continuing path, step over or find someway to get around and just continue on your way, not dwelling on what they did. Your path is so much longer than this one experience with this person, sometimes you just have to move on or risk staying stuck finding ways to internalise the blame.
