Does it drive anyone else crazy that we don’t know anything about Angela’s mother? Was she married to this universe’s version of Billy Gibbons? Was she his girlfriend? Or was she just a ZZ Top groupie? Did Angela spend a lot of time with her as a kid? Did she go on the road with them or did she have a steady home somewhere? Did she die? Or is she still alive, and she never comes up because Angela never actually knew her at all? We know she was Chinese, but that’s about it. And even when Angela’s ethnicity is brought up, her mother still isn’t directly mentioned; she’ll say “I’m half-Chinese,” not, “My mother is Chinese.”
