MYTHBUSTERS: LEPPARD EDITION
oKay people Iâm fucking dYinG over this-
So if youâve been keeping up with literally anything Leppardâs been posting over the past month, youâll know theyâve been promoting the hell out of this insanely overpriced line of âdesignerâ tshirts and hoodies and such by a company called Project Presents
The line is called Leppard Lyrics
Itâs super officially licensed stuff, even so that Savâs son Scott modeled for them
Even SAV helped promote it
The designs are pretty cool, but it costs WAY over $100 for any given one of them, no matter what article of clothing you buy, so youâd be crazy to spend money on it imo- no matter how high the quality or UV activated shit claims to be. Besides, they only come in black.
They have designs for Animal, Billyâs Got a Gun, Let Me Be the One, and so forth,
and then thereâs THIS:
the âfaith over moneyâ design.
Now I know what youâre thinking: youâre either thinking âwhere the fuck is this from and how the fuck does it resemble Leppard, anyway? Did they just pick some random edgy-sounding phrase and put it in a Leppard font?â or âOh it must be from Blind Faith, right? Thatâs the only Leppard song that has the worth âfaithâ in the title, right?â
Well,Â
If you thought option #2, youâre only partially right.
Because if you google the lyrics to Blind Faith, you get this:
And if you google âDef Leppard Project Presents Faith Over Moneyâ, you get this as a result:
You see both of these and you think âokay, that must explain it- itâs from Blind Faith after all! Letâs click on it just to make sure-â
But when you click on it-
The design got taken down weeks ago. Iâm pretty sure it was only available for a week, if not a little longer, BUT it was still available long enough for people to buy it

All the other designs were still available, but not this one. So why?Â
For one thing, according to the lyric sheet that came with the vinyl- the only times they say the word âfaithâ in Blind Faith is in the lines âis my faith enough to keep them aliveâ and âfaith hope and gloryâ. Though itâs incredibly easy to mishear that line as âfaith over moneyâ (Iâm guilty of that myself as I was investigating this), thatâs not what the line is.
Donât believe me? Listen to the song yourself.
Hereâs further proof that the line is âfaith hope and gloryâ:
**In conclusion (TL;DR):**
This brand of clothing that has been promoting the shit out of this new collection and claims to be SO high end got the lyrics wrong. They got the lyrics wrong and printed it on shirts that sold for more than $100. They googled the lyrics and didnât even check them officially. Sav was working so closely with them, and they still made this mistake, and tried to cover it up by taking it down. They exist, and theyâre out there.Â
Imagine how much theyâre gonna be worth in the future oh god
Thanks for coming to my TED talk
