Today’s #marchmeetthemaker prompt is “postage and packaging”. Packaging is actually a huge gripe of mine- I’ve been known on multiple occasion to tweet companies when I’ve received items and I you all know what I mean- receive a tiny item in a box that would hold 500 surrounded by piles of bubble wrap etc etc. So- from day one I’ve always made my packaging as simple as possible. After all- it’s not the packaging you’re buying- it’s the product! And I don’t want half of a customers cost to go towards all the random things I buy to make the postage look funky. I like to reuse art tubes as much as possible and then it 100% guarantees they’ll arrive safely. And it means I can post internationally without worrying too much. It also means it can be safely stored at the other end if it needs to be. I could probably make my postage prettier...but, at the moment I just wrap the print in tissue paper just to protect the ink. Slide it into a tube, possibly include a business card if I remember (with a thank you of course.) and then pop it along to the post office. 😕 Looking at everyone else’s funky packaging mine seems sort of lazy- but I have my reasons! 😇 #printmaking #art #postageandpackaging #packaging #lessismore #simple
