i need to see more loneliness in whump. not like being literally the only person around, but just... being on the outside of everything. whumpee has no idea how to function in a group setting, how to make meaningful relationships, how to care for other people, so they can't form relationships to learn how to do that.
they're so used to their own company that they forget it's normal to have contacts in their phone, to meet up with friends, to be invited to things.
they can't get close to people because they're scared of someone seeing the real them and deciding it's not worth the effort. and they don't want to tell the people they might actually be close to the truth because then they'll be forever treated differently, even if their friends say they won't.
whumpee isn't totally invisible, but if they're out of sight then they're out of mind. and somehow that feels worse than if nobody noticed them in the first place because people do see, but whumpee isn't enough for them to keep looking.
In order to complete an important mission, the team have to infiltrate an enemy base, disguising themselves as enemy soldiers or workers. However, thereâs one problem. The recently rescued Whumpee is still very identifiable as a living weapon, and their skills are too valuable to leave behind. So, the team have to pretend that Whumpee is not a member of their team but a living weapon they own.
Everyone hates this. Whumpee is clearly being triggered by every single interaction, and the team canât do anything to comfort them or else theyâll rouse suspiscion.
Caretaker has to bite their tongue at every dehumanising comment and remark, because theyâre supposed to be agreeing.
If the team get unlucky, they show up on the wrong day. All living weapons are to be inspected for faults, separated from their handlers. Whumpee is no exception, despite the team insisting they need them to help with work.
Maybe the team donât even really know much about living weapons. Sure, the name kind of makes it clear they arenât treated so humanely, but witnessing it first hand is sickening to them, and only makes their resolve to defeat the enemy even stronger.
If the teamâs cover gets blown, itâs probably over Whumpee. Someone canât take it anymore and rushes over to them, defends them against harsh words, or just calls out a name that definitely shouldnât belong to them.
Itâs likely this could do long lasting damage to Whumpeeâs recovery, too. They slip back into their old demeanour too easily, and now itâs a struggle to leave it behind all over again. If they slip up on the mission, they start acting like a faulty weapon, not like a rightfully stressed human being.

whumpee knows it.
maybe a bone didn't heal right, or maybe the things they went through left them with some slow-progressing illness or other injury that is becoming increasingly harder to manage
they can feel themselves getting worse, and they know eventually they'll need to seek medical help if they don't want the damage to get worse
but they don't want to bring it up to anyone - how humiliating it'd be, after everything, to once again ask for more help, especially if they had to go into any detail
its been weeks since the whump happened, it all should be over now
maybe its for the best that no one has noticed yet
Recovered Whumpee is back, full on socializing. He cracks joke, flirts around, his smile is radiant, his posture screams confidence and power.
He's alright, really.

It was a victory. They had been underweight under Whumper to fit their impossible standards. It had been hard accepting their body changing, borderline between reclaiming the body as their own and âruiningâ Whumperâs toy. Spite had been essential for Whumpeeâs recovery. It had supported them where softness and optimism had failed. Whumper checks them out
«I like it.» they establish.
What they mean is: Youâre allowed to keep it.
Whumpee takes it badly. Their tentative to make themselves less attractive to Whumper failed, the power they thought they had to ruin themselves negated. Theyâre still not immune to Whumperâs opinion of them and they find out they feel relieved to be of their liking. It sucks.
