I know we already shared this song when it first came out three months ago, but weâre in love with the fresh video that Alex Winston just released for Tourist, plus Iâm always game to frequent a dose of her spunk, sassy, yet saccharine pop! Tourist is the Detroit indie pop artistâs first solo release in a very long time, one which we waited for with much giddy excitement after falling for her music back in 2012 when she released debut album King Con. Though weâre also devout fans of her music with MS MRâs Max Hershenow as Post Precious, weâre glad sheâs back on the solo route with Tourist. The new video for the song is a nostalgic homage to the star-studded 1999 pageant mockumentary film Drop Dead Gorgeous. Alexâs video is star-studded as well. It features a cameo from Max Hershenow, as well as OctaHate breakout Ryn Weaver. Wiinston dances through the streets in the iconic tribute as she belts out her stand-out anthem with her spectacular voice. 2019 will see her releasing more new music as she heads out on the road. All this news is music to our ears, and now we canât wait for 2018 to end in star-spangled fashion thanks to Alex Winstonâs marvelous new video. Snag Tourist, here.
Damn Alex Winston is a very busy woman with her being apart of the duo Post Precious and now releasing a brand new solo track called Tourist. After a few listens I think itâs safe to say this has replaced Dead End as my new favourite Alex Winston track because it has this old fashioned Blues and Jazz style to it that works so well with Alexâs vocal that is filled to the brim with emotion and huge amounts of sass. The lyrics are some of Alexâs best with the analogy of an ex lover being a tourist being pure genius and lyrics such as, âGave my body like a monument,â and âI donât want to be your home,â adding more to that analogy. One of Alexâs best ever tracks and I cannot wait to hear more from her in whatever project she does.
