I'm feeling like doing a throwback to this really cool lady I designed 2 years ago, so let me do exactly that! Meet Lakka, an orc lady specialising in all things boom! đź’Ą
She was made for a project I had, named When Reality Bleeds, which was developed as part of my end of degree project. I don't think I'll revisit it, but some cool concepts came out of that. Orcs in that setting were a sort of evolution from humans, who were more adapted to the harsh environment and thrived where humans just couldn't. Lakka joined Oathbound, an organization meant to fight Overseer, the megacorporation that had turned half of the world into a wasteland, except for the numerous domed cities they controlled. The setting also had stuff about eldritch creatures bleeding into reality after some magic mess up, which only added to the mix. Anyways, I hope you like her, if there's interest i might just revamp her!

Second game, unfortunately the last of the ones I doodled for! Mutant Year 0
My character was a Gearhead, named CombustionEngine! Cause they thought it sounded badass, but would accept “Benny” in conversation. They had a stunted growth and were rather shorter than most of the ARK. They wore goggles and Volvo Overalls :D I thought they were great. Picked 2 mutations at the start. Which would come in handy later.
In the party we also had a Mutant w/Dog. Which is their whole deal, they have a dog. That was TinTin Pop with their dog Igge Pop. As depicted above, lovely pupper, who defeated an enemy and then stumbled themselves concussed. They were fine tho!
the rest of the party consisted of a Boss, Mooni. Their servant, Börs (alt. Butch, but he misheard). The 2 stalkers, Glönn and Eka. We did very well :D
We played the intro mission (minor spoilers ahead) otherwise pretty standard mission. With the most STUPID plan of attack ever. Just saying, it’s SO STUPID, but so worth it.
So the mission was to find a lost expedition that left two days prior to find fresh water. And as we reach the last known place we encounter enemies. Zonegeists or something like it that we had to combat, after which we just narrowly escape detection by this huge bird the silently drifted above us.
Me, as a gearhead, comes up with the most stupid idea. While the Stalkers reveal their knowledge of the beast, I crack the most stupid, horrific, awful and “absolutely going to end badly”-plan ever.
This bird deals heavy damage with its claws, and it a swooper. Strikes from above swift and silent sort of deal. I convince the rest of the party to fetch a huge steel barrel. Enough for my character to room inside. I explain how it’s to attract the geists that escaped, so that the bird may take them. Now the bird hurts a ton so I hide in the barrel where it can’t see me. Brilliant! Right! Right?
The stalkers are difficult to persuade, they see how utterly stupid the idea is. However, finally the Boss takes my side, they trust my judgement, and tell them all to go with it.
So they quietly roll the barrel out, I hop in, they rush back to the doors and wait inside, arrows at the ready to make noise when the geists arrive. And me, the brilliant wit that I am, “Trust me I’m the Gearhead”, slam the drum.
CLANG. CLANG. CLANG.
Utter silence, no geists take the lure. Of course, it was a long shot. Out of the post apocalypse skies, greenish-yellow mists thick enough to touch, the bird swoops down, silent terror seen only as a shadow in the haze.
It unfurls talons large enough not only to eclipse my tiny little barrel, but this mutated monstrosity has claws hard and sharp like actual swords. Talons first it hits the barrel with my little gearhead still inside.
The barrel shreds.
Strips of metal bending away under weight and talon like butter. The party just inside the doors are too shocked to move. The stalkers don’t shoot. The boss is just staring. the servant is.. well they’re not in range to see and tries to crane past, classically going “What happened, did it work?”
...Absolute silence...
And then it rings out. Crashing through the silence, loud and hysterical laughter. As my gearhead pops up from between the huge digits, screaming in both terror and delight. “I’m Alive! it WORKED, I can’t believe it worked!“ And similar.
The whole party now watch as the gearhead, still laughing the laugh of those who’s seen the shape of the reaper man and walked away, climb onto the unresisting beasts toes and point for the towers. It takes off without fuss, and the laughter growing distant. Echoing over the old factory, reverberating and gathering undertones off the crumbling old walls...
Benny started with the mutation MonsterControl, which explains itself, and DoubleBrain. This grants the mutant 2 actions in combat, exp boosts, and two consciousness’s that fight for dominance.
The Tailor-Buzzard (Direct translation, it sounds cooler in Swedish) was added to a rather small compendium of beasts that Benny knows they have a chance to control.
