On one hand, I’m very annoyed at being sick again, but on the other... I wrote two fics for starkerfest in the same day when I had covid
So anyway folks, I streamed the first bit of Death Stranding yesterday and I have to say, it's both very good and not so good at the same time. Of course i basically just played a few hours into the intro right before you start the main quest line, so these are just my initial impressions. The scary parts are done remarkably well and reliant more on suspense than jump scare, and the mechanics of the game feel nuanced and interesting. The soundtrack is also some next level shit. The not so good things are that the plot can be unnecessarily convoluted in a way that makes the MC's motivations feel unsatisfactory, there are frequent long cutscenes which makes the game feel more like an interactive movie rather than a game, and at least so far, choices made in game don't appear to matter.
But there's a lot more game to be played, AND another huge pro: Mads mikkelsen sings in a cutscene and calls himself daddy. So? Perfect game, essentially.
