The Pleasers was a popular music group recording and performing in the mid-1960s. Members included Max Thomson, Bryan Layton, Kevan Walsh and Roger Skinner. The Audioculture website has an entertaining account of the band's formation. It is hardly surprising to discover that the band played at the Auckland venue known as the Beatle Inn, set up by promoter Phil Warren. However they later went on to perform on the TV programme "Let's Go" in Wellington, and absorbed influences from other bands.
