WHY IS RHAEGAR TARGARYEN DICK?
So..... I do not really know how to feel after GoT finale. Seriously I just started to watch it from 7th season because I read books and I wanted to stay with books but it takes Martin so FUCKING long to finish the book and I needed answers so I started to watch GoT and wow...
I can not even say how bitter I feel towards Rhaegar right now.
So okay, we all suspected that Jon is Rhaegar’s and Lyanna’s son so now finally we have confirmation (but only in show so it still doesn’t mean anything till Martin do the same in books but I think he will – anyway) I am glad that Jon is a product of love…I am truly grateful for him to know that he is not some unwanted child (like he thought all his life) but he was promised and he had loving parents BUT
HOW COULD YOU DO THAT RHAEGAR FUCKING TARGARYEN?!
Seriously I am so pissed off. Again – the annulation of marriage is ONLY in the show – but really? REALLY? So Rhaegar was married to Elia and from books we know he was „fond of her“ but in the same time he gave Lyanna that crown of blue roses and pronounced her the most beautiful queen or whatever so out of this we can say that Rhaegar did not really loved Elia. He loved Lyanna BUT still he was married. MARRIED. And his alliance with Martells as a head family of Dorne was very good and strategic move how to maintain peace.
Now we do not know for sure if Elia did loved Rhaegar but I am sure she was well aware of importance of this alliance, therefor no matter how she felt she was loyal to Rhaegar. She gave him TWO children and almost died giving them life.
And what FUCKING RHAEGAR TARGARYEN DID?
He left her alone in Kings Landing and ran to Lyanna (and she was 14 years old btw while he was like 30) and married her?
MAKING HIS OWN TWO CHILDREN BASTARDS?
MARRYING ALREADY ENGAGED GIRL AND CAUSE WAR IN THE PROCESS?
Because yeah of course „steal“somebody’s wife to be it’s totally okay. Nobody will notice. I am such a smart king to be. Ha ha ha.
I am I cruel? Hmmmm, so let him be loved. Let him marry love of his life because why not. Why not let civilians and soldiers dying while little Rhaegar will have his love. The only thing that matters is him. War? Pffff not important.
I am really curious about Elia. Did she know about Rhaegar and Lyanna? Did she give them her blessing? Or did Rhaegar just annulated the marriage without her knowing? Was he SUCH a dick? And what about Lyanna? Did she refused him and tell him that he is married and so fuck him? Did she keep refusing him until Elia gave them blessing?
And when exactly Elia and her children died? Maybe in the day Rhaegar and Lyanna had wedding? Or day after? Month after? Was Rhaegar sad? Did he cry? Did he EVEN CARE? Did he try to avenge them? And when exactly he left Lyanna and went into war (and also left her alone)? Was he dead at the moment Lyanna gave birth to Jon? Or did she die first? Did Rhegar try to find Jon, was he still alive to even knowing he has a son?
BUT STILL I am really REALLY REALLY trying SO HARD not to hate Rhaegar because we do not have all the information but STILL….
The fact that he made his own children bastards and left Elia to marry another woman, knowing it will start a war – WHAT WAS HE THINKG ABOUT? HOW HE COULD BE SO IRRESPONSIBLE? SO CHILDISH? Of course everybody wants to be with his true love but if it means thousands of people would be killed in the process then maybe he should sacrifice his own happiness no? Maybe he should rather stay with Elia and be “unhappy” then cause downfall of his own house and his own WHOLE family?
Because for the fuck sake okay maybe he did not loved Elia as much as he loved Lyanna but he should respect her at least. Protect her. But no….. he was away, while Elia watched how Mountain killed her children and then she was raped and killed too. Also Rhaegar’s nephew and niece (Viserys and Daenerys) needed to escape to another continent to save their life and Rhaegar’s father was killed too and all of this for ONE FUCKING TARGARYEN WHO WAS NOT ABLE TO CONTROL HIS HORMONS. Or maybe I should also thank to Lyanna because she also must have known where this would lead. They are both to blame......but Rhaegar was older, Rhaegar was king to be and he should act like it.
So thank you Rhaegar. If it weren’t for you Elia would still be alive.
Her children would be alive.
