#poor sky

Sky is always one of my favorite characters, even when his name is Kai.

So, she stormed out of the lab.

Sky was a sensitive woman with a large heart and a hunger for knowledge like her boss and complicated childhood friend.

But this?

This was downright painful.

People glanced at her with a mix of worry or curiousness as she hurriedly made her way to her office.

With force, she opened the door and slammed it shut.

With a grunt of exasperation and annoyance, she slapped her papers onto the desk.

Something had to give.

Or else it would be her heart.

The local hero stared at them like he wasn’t sure what he was seeing. 

“Sorry to disturb your fishing,” Time began, motioning to the simple wooden rod that was propped haphazardly between a rock and a very lumpy pumpkin. “But it’s important that we speak with you.”

The hero used his tongue to push a wheat stem from one corner of his mouth to the other, looking no less bewildered than before. A goat bleated in the distance. 

“You’re Link, right?” Sky asked when the silence became too much.

The hero nodded slowly. 

Or Sun reunites with a very over tired Sky. And by overtired I mean he’s absolutely angry. 

I had so much fun writing this because sky and I are twinning sometimes with sleep lol

A soft hum rang through the small settlement of the new Hyrule as Zelda Sun tended to the crops. The soft blue petals adorned the flowers with practiced ease, leaves reaching up to touch the sky that was once her home. Soft greenery painted the background before her, adorned with small houses and settlements. Sure, the new altitude would take some time to get used to, but Hyrule is beautiful.

Soft, yet seasoned footsteps painted the land behind her, and the now-queen looked over. Link. He’s back! She waved softly as she watched the nine heroes approach her, “Good morning!” A soft smile graced her lips, “Link- I mean Sky, how was your journey?” 

“Zelda!” The goddess quickly took note of the dark circles under her hero’s eyes as he ran closer, almost tackling her to the ground, “I don’t wanna continue adventuring!” The Skyloftian sobbed, “It’s too hard and I’m tired and I miss you and- and-“ A soft finger slowly land’s on Sky’s lips.

“Love, slow down,” She sighed, wiping his tears, he needs a good night’s sleep, “Why are you feeling so upset?” Her fingers traced a soothing pattern on his cheek as he let out another sob. 

“He’s been acting like this since yesterday. We don’t understand why he’s so grumpy, the only person he traded watch with is me.” Time explained, turning his wedding ring. Not to his attention though, eight guilty, wide awake faces stared embarrassingly at the ground. Sky simply gave a look that said liar.

“Link, dear, when was the last time you slept?” 

A slight shriek rang through the hero’s body as he flopped down to the ground, accidentally toppling on the flowers, “Three days! Zelda I’m tired! I wanna go home!” Thick tears dripped down his cheeks harder as he kept begging her to take him home (even if he already is home). The only time Sun ever recalls Sky crying like this was before they even knew he was the hero. When Groose tackled him in Skyloft’s clear water and the poor boy generally thought he was going to drown. She tensed thinking about the memory, but then looked back down at the hero.

“Would you like to go to sleep now?”

So. Imagine. Wild goes on his second adventure. Meets Rauru. And is extremely confused as to why Rauru isn’t Sky, and Sonia isn’t Sun.

He has no idea what’s going on, and Rauru came from the sky. So Wild rejoins the chain after that, and just gives Sky this Look. Like he can’t decide.

Sky bites.

“Wild, is something bothering you?” Sky seals his fate.

“So, I met the first king of Hyrule. Well. His ghost. And his hand. Long story. He came from the sky. The confusing part to me was that he wasn’t you, like I expected.”

“Really? Are you sure he wasn’t my kid?” Sky signs his death warrant.

“Unless you cheat on sun, and boink an eight foot tap goat woman, I’m sure.”

Silence. Everyone is staring at wild, who just eats his stew like nothing is wrong. Wind pipes up
