bones: um *points at spock and uhura making out across the room*

Jim stared at the doctor like he had five heads, ignoring the way his body was begging him to lie down. Part of him wondering if Bones actually had five heads ( a tiny side effect of his spiking fever ). When the elder of the two sat in a chair by his bed - showing no obvious signs of leaving - he rolled his eyes and let loose a scoff. The rational part of him knowing McCoy wouldn’t stay if the diagnosis wasn’t serious.

“ It’s a fever, Bones, not a missing limb, ” He countered, words sounding slurred to all ears but his own. “ I’m fine. ” 

One hand gripped the side of the gurney as the room began to spin, but the motion seemed to stop as soon as it had started. Still , he closed his eyes. That was when the nausea decided to creep into the crevices of his stomach, sending that tangy feeling through his esophagus.

“ Go - do your annoying doctor thing with other patients, ” Jim suggested, waving a dismissive hand in the air.

Spock’s hands were magic against Jim’s sore back.

“Ngh!” Jim grunted. “That feels AMAZING! Now, give it all you got! Dig it in there, Mister Spock!”

Outside the captain’s door, Leonard McCoy lost all color in his face and went to drink an entire bottle of Saurian brandy alone.
